St Peter Port Framework
GURNSEY - FRAMEWORK APPROVED
The States of Guernsey instigated a Development Framework to deliver positive regeneration to St Peter Port. BBUK were part of a multidisciplinary consultant team led by Tibbalds, that were appointed to provide planning guidance for three Regeneration Areas in the capital: Lower Pollet, to the north, South Esplanade and Mignot Plateau to the south, and Mansell Street/Le Bordage, to the southwest of the main centre.
The aim was to set out a vision for each of them which included improved pedestrian experience and high quality public open space destinations. The Framework also sought to identify key development opportunities for the sites and public realm and provide guidance on how each should be considered as part of any future proposals. Two extensive rounds of consultation were carried out, with members of the public and stakeholders invited to provide feedback which helped to shape the final document.
