Twyford Abbey

EALING - IN PROGRESS

Twyford Abbey is a derelict grade II-listed manor house in Ealing, west London. Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group and Redington Capita are restoring the building as part of a wider development of the site. BBUK are working on the scheme with AHHM who have taken a sympathetic landscape-led approach to the restoration, taking inspiration from the Gothic style design of the abbey. Redington will oversee the restoration of the abbey building which will include 30 new homes whilst Latimer will deliver the remaining 296 – half of which will be affordable housing.

Covering 54,000sq m The Abbey’s landscaped grounds, historic walled garden, open parkland and mature woodland will also be restored for the local community. BBUK are working to preserve and enhance the historical and ecological value of the site through appropriate design interventions, sympathetic to past design, uses and conventions, without creating a pastiche. The end result is a high quality scheme that secures the sites long term future whilst delivering a biodiversity net gain and increased urban green factor.
