The Beckett
TUNBRIDGE WELLS - COMPLETED 2025
The Beckett provides 89 extra care apartments on the site of a former bus depot on the edge of Tunbridge Wells town centre. Developed for Elysian Residencies by AHMM, the development comprises three new buildings, orientated on a north/south axis, built around a landscaped courtyard garden designed by BBUK. All the apartments feature full-height windows and balconies to ensure a seamless connection with the outdoors, and the upper floors are set back from the primary façade providing generous terrace areas which exploit expansive views.
Planting around the arrival space and along the building’s frontage blends seamlessly with the front gardens along the remainder of the road, and the southern and eastern boundaries of the site are planted with mixed native trees to screen views and add to the site’s biodiversity. Overall, our sensitive communal landscape design re-opens green corridors across the site and supports supports The Beckett’s principles of well-being and social interaction.
