Preston Bus Depot

Working with architects John Puttick Associates, BBUK submitted the winning entry for an international competition to design a new public square in front of the iconic 1960s Brutalist bus station. The proposals included a flexible open area, suitable for a variety of uses such as arts performances, farmers markets or fairs. The new square has existing trees preserved and new white flowering plants as a memorial to the cotton mills that had previously stood on the site.
