The Mount is a housing scheme of 133 new homes and adjoining park in North London for Countryside Annington. BBUK designed the communal gardens, a public open space and the public realm on the surrounding and connecting streets.
The southern end of the park with steeper gradients incorporates a grand staircase. This is set into planted, terraced banks with seating set into the retaining walls on the stair platforms.
Courtyard gardens are provided for residents on podiums featuring generous lawns, plantings of shrubs, perennials and small trees. A large public open space is provided along the eastern edge of the site where a children’s play area is placed.
BBUK detailed and inspected all elements of the hard and soft landscape, providing advice on site layout, planning conditions, sustainability issues and general co-ordination.
