Working with Wilkinson Eyre and Mole architects BBUK designed a large courtyard garden for this mixed-use scheme. Situated north of Cambridge, comprising undergraduate and post graduate housing the development also includes a health centre, energy centre and supermarket.
The garden is separated into a series of spaces of various sizes divided by evergreen hedges; at the heart of the garden is a large communal dining table to encourage community cohesion. Private roof gardens are provided at the upper levels for use by the undergraduates, and a shade garden of ferns, grasses and silver birch trees provides calming views from the health centre.
